Radiotherapy can be started one month after surgery for B2 thymoma, which is mainly to reduce the chance of local recurrence of the tumor after surgery as well as to treat the local residual tumor after surgery, so as to improve the cure rate of B2 thymoma.
B2 thymoma is a moderately malignant tumor, so early and middle stage patients are prone to local recurrence after radical surgery, thus the cure rate of B2 thymoma patients decreases, clinically, in order to reduce the incidence of postoperative local recurrence, so patients need to be given adjuvant radiotherapy after surgery.
There are also some patients with B2 thymoma, the dissemination of peripheral tissues has occurred before surgery, surgery can not completely remove the tumor, so that the local tumor remnants, therefore, need to be given radiotherapy to treat, the specific treatment needs to be medical treatment, by the judgement of specialists.
