What’s with the back pain from the vomiting?

The back pain of vomiting may be caused by physiological reasons such as mechanical pulling caused by vomiting, or it may be caused by pathological reasons such as gastric ulcers and gallbladder stones.
1. Physiological causes: Vomiting is a common clinical symptom, the strong contraction of the stomach can lead to gastric or intestinal contents through the esophagus from the oral cavity out of the body. Gastric acid and bile contained in the vomit can cause certain chemical damage to the mucosa of the stomach, esophagus and oral cavity, and mechanical pulling can also cause certain physical damage, thus causing back pain and stomach pain after vomiting.
2. Pathologic causes:
(1) Gastric ulcer: excessive gastric acid secretion, Helicobacter pylori infection and other factors can cause ulcerative changes in the gastric mucosa, causing symptoms such as postprandial gastric pain, nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, etc., and also causing symptoms such as back pain, vomiting of blood and tarry stools.
(2) Gallbladder stones: Obesity, diabetes, high-fat diet and other factors can lead to the formation of cholesterol stones, cholesterol-based mixed stones or melanin stones in the gallbladder, causing nausea, vomiting, epigastric pain and other symptoms, and vomiting can cause back pain and other symptoms.
