How to treat asthma in pregnancy

Asthma attacks, especially severe asthma and persistent asthma, are not only dangerous for the pregnant woman, but also can cause intrauterine hypoxia, growth retardation, distress and even death of the fetus due to severe maternal hypoxia and complications. The effects of asthma medications on pregnant women and fetuses The risks to pregnant women and fetuses from bronchial asthma medications are much less than the risks to mothers and fetuses during pregnancy from uncontrolled bronchial asthma, and it is best to use inhaled preparations, which have low systemic absorption, fast onset of action and last as long as oral preparations. Inhaled steroid preparations have been widely used for many years and have not been reported to be teratogenic, therefore, they are preferred for the treatment of asthma during pregnancy. Treatment: In addition to antibiotics, oxygen and general supportive therapy, inhaled steroid preparations and β2-adrenergic agonists are used regularly before and during pregnancy as needed.
