Chinese Medicine Diagnosis and Treatment of Dizziness

Dizziness is called vertigo in Chinese medicine, and the identification of vertigo is divided into two categories: deficiency and actuality, and the treatment is based on replenishing deficiency and removing actuality (replenishing the body’s positive qi and getting rid of the evil qi), and adjusting the yin and yang as the method. There are two types of deficiency: deficiency of qi and blood and deficiency of kidney essence. The symptoms of deficiency of qi and blood include dizziness when moving, pale face, fatigue (mental exhaustion, physical weakness), and tiredness of the limbs. One should tonify Qi and Blood, regulate the heart and spleen, and treat with Gui Spleen Tang. Kidney essence deficiency manifests as tinnitus, lumbar and knee soreness and weakness (a feeling of soreness and weakness in the lumbar and knee regions), poor sleep and dreaminess, forgetfulness, spermatorrhea and premature ejaculation. One should benefit the Kidneys and fill up the essence with Zuo Gui Wan. The solid evidence includes the evidence of hyperactivity of Liver-Yang (excessive Liver-Yang, causing dizziness, dizziness, headache and other symptoms), phlegm-dampness middle obstruction (phlegm-dampness evil qi stays in the spleen and stomach), and stasis and blood stasis (stasis and blood stasis blocking the foramen ovale). Hyperactivity of Liver-Yang manifests as dizziness and headache, light-headedness, irritability, bitter taste in the mouth, and redness of the face and eyes. It is advisable to calm the liver and subdue yang (suppressing too much rising yang qi in the liver), clearing fire and quenching wind. Use Tianma Hook Teng Drink. Phlegm-dampness obstruction manifests as vertigo, dizziness, dizziness, abdominal distension and nausea. Dampness should be dried and phlegm resolved (use dampness-drying medicines to dispel phlegm in the body), and the spleen and stomach should be strengthened (to restore the functions of the spleen and stomach). Half-summer, White Atractylodes and Tianma Tang can be used. Blood stasis and obstruction of orifices manifests as headache and dizziness, with fixed pain and generalized spirit. The treatment is to activate blood circulation, dispel blood stasis and relieve pain (remove blood stasis to relieve pain), and use Tongjiao and Xuebao Tang.
