Dullness below the right rib cage without hunger may be caused by organic lesions of organs such as liver and gallbladder, or it may be caused by functional gastrointestinal disease. The main organs below the right rib cage include the liver and gallbladder. If organic lesions occur in the liver and gallbladder, such as benign/malignant tumor of the liver, hepatic cyst, gallbladder polyp, benign/malignant tumor of the gallbladder, etc., and the volume of the lesion increases and presses on the gastrointestinal tract, then it will lead to the right epigastric (i.e., below the right rib cage) stuffiness, hunger pangs and other clinical symptoms. If gastric and duodenal dysfunction occurs, it may also cause gastrointestinal symptoms such as bloating and pain in the epigastrium (including the lower part of the right rib cage), lack of appetite, and lack of hunger, but there is no organic lesion on examination, which is called functional dyspepsia. If there is a case of stuffiness below the right ribcage without hunger, it is necessary to go to the hospital in time to clarify the cause and be regulated by the doctor to avoid delaying the condition.
