What does ectopic pancreas mean?

Pancreatic ectasia is a term that is often mentioned in clinical reports when CT, MRI or ultrasound examinations are performed. The pancreas is a tadpole-shaped organ, but sometimes a small amount of pancreatic tissue does not grow within the pancreas as a whole, but grows in a small part above the stomach, in a small part above the intestine, or in a small part above the spleen, and pancreatic tissue growing in other locations is called pancreatic ectopic. Pancreatic ectopia is not harmful to the human body, so you do not need to worry about it.
