Is a strong positive tuberculin always a problem?

A strong positive tuberculin test does not confirm that something is definitely wrong. The tuberculin test can only be used as a reference indicator of tuberculosis infection and is not the primary way to confirm a diagnosis of tuberculosis. A strong positive tuberculin test may indicate that you have been infected with tuberculosis in the past and are currently infected with tuberculosis. A strong positive tuberculin test does not necessarily mean that there is something wrong with you. If you suspect tuberculosis infection, we suggest that you need to take chest radiographs or CT of lungs to find out whether there are lung lesions, and you also need to check the blood sedimentation rate, blood routine, inflammation indexes to find out whether there is tuberculosis activity, and you also need to combine with the patient’s clinical symptoms. Tuberculosis patients usually have a series of manifestations such as low-grade fever, night sweats (sweating abnormally after falling asleep, but sweating stops after waking up), generalized weakness, and recent weight loss. Therefore, we cannot judge that there must be tuberculosis by the strong positive tuberculin test alone, and it is recommended to consult a doctor for a comprehensive test when a strong positive tuberculin test is detected.
