How to treat a child’s abrasion

Children’s abrasions need different treatments such as cleaning, disinfection, hemostasis, pain relief and surgery depending on whether there is contamination, bleeding, swelling and pain, other tissue damage and other different conditions.
1. Contamination: If there is contamination in the wound, it is necessary to take out the dirt and debris and clean and disinfect the wound, and inject tetanus if necessary.
2. Bleeding: After rinsing out the dirt and active bleeding from the wound, medical gauze can be applied to compress the wound to stop bleeding.
3. Swelling and pain: if the wound is congested and edematous, the affected limb can be elevated to reduce the edema, if the pain is heavy, it can be given ibuprofen and other drugs as prescribed by the doctor for analgesia.
4. Other tissue damage: children need to determine whether there are bones, nerves, tendons, ligaments, internal organs of the injury, if there is a need for surgery and other treatments.
Children’s abrasions are recommended to consult a doctor in time, improve the relevant examination and standardized treatment, to avoid delaying the condition.
