What is the difference between a normal birth and a cesarean section?

The choice between a normal delivery, in which the fetus is delivered naturally through the vagina, and a cesarean section, in which an incision is made in the lower abdomen and the uterus is cut open to remove the fetus, should depend on the condition of the pregnant woman.
Shunyi delivery is a vaginal delivery in which the three factors of labor force, birth canal and fetus are normal and compatible. If the mother and fetus are healthy, and the size of the fetus is compatible with the mother’s bony birth canal, it is generally recommended to choose shunyi delivery in the first place. With normal delivery, recovery is fast, the wound is small, and the baby can eat and breastfeed immediately. The squeezing of the birth canal during labor helps the baby’s lung function to develop.
When there are situations that are not suitable for normal delivery, such as pelvic stenosis, cephalopelvic disproportion, intrauterine distress, poor fetal position such as persistent shoulder dorsal exposure, high straight back position, etc., cesarean section is needed, or it may threaten the safety of the mother and the baby.
Cesarean section requires an incision in the lower abdomen, incision of the uterus to remove the fetus directly, which may leave surgical scars, slow recovery time, and anesthesia risk. Mothers who undergo cesarean section have a higher risk of intraoperative hemorrhage, thrombosis, and uterine rupture in second pregnancies than those who undergo normal delivery, and newborns born by cesarean section have a higher risk of pulmonary abnormalities than those who undergo normal delivery.
Cesarean section without indication is not recommended. Pregnant women and their families are advised to listen to the obstetrician’s advice and choose the appropriate mode of delivery according to the condition of the pregnant woman and the fetus.
