What to do if there is white flocculent material in the urine

Possible reasons for the appearance of white flocculent matter in urine: 1. Urinary tract infection. When infection occurs, a large number of pus cells and white blood cells are present in the urine, which can be manifested as an increase in white flocculent material in the urine. It is accompanied by symptoms such as painful urination and frequent urination. Some elderly people may have asymptomatic bacteriuria, in which white flocculent material is seen in the urine, but the body does not react with pain or fever. All of them need anti-infection treatment. It is recommended to retain the corresponding urine for further bacterial culture and drug sensitivity test, and after culturing the causative organism, the most sensitive antibiotic will be selected for active anti-infection treatment. It can also be treated empirically with levofloxacin injection 200mg IV once a day and cefuroxime sodium injection 1.5g IV twice a day; 2. Crystalluria. It is common when there are more crystals in urine such as uric acid or other minerals. Usually, when encountering or encountering cold environment, more crystals in urine appear to precipitate, and when heated, the crystals in urine can be dissolved. Usually there are no symptoms of painful urination, and routine urine tests do not show a large number of white blood cells, so further tests such as blood electrolytes and uric acid are recommended. If there is an increase in the corresponding level, symptomatic treatment will be required according to the increased level.
