Incisor pain is mostly caused by inflammation of the tooth pulp due to decay or trauma, which leads to severe pain. The pain relief method depends on the specific cause of the disease. If the tooth nerve is not exposed, the doctor will put a layer of calcium hydroxide at the bottom of the cavity near the gum to protect the pulp, and then fill the tooth with filling material to solve the pain. Once the decay has reached the pulp, root canal treatment is needed to remove the nerve and then restore the crown. If the tooth pain is caused by trauma, it needs to be fixed by reducing the bite and loosening the tooth. Root canal treatment is also required once the trauma has caused pulpitis. Patients with incisor pain can take ibuprofen at home to relieve the pain, take cephalexin and metronidazole as appropriate to reduce inflammation, and do not bite down on hard objects with the front teeth.
