Redness under the eyes of children may be caused by physiological factors, insect bite dermatitis, eye infection, eye trauma and other reasons.
1. Physiological factors: if a child rubs his eyes excessively with his hands, it can lead to redness under the eyes, which is a physiological phenomenon, and generally can be recovered and returned to normal after rest.
2. Insect bite dermatitis: if the patient’s lower eye suffers from mosquito bites, redness of the eyelids can occur, which may also be accompanied by itching, swelling and other symptoms of discomfort.
3. Eye infections: If the child does not pay attention to hygiene in daily life and frequently rubs his eyes with dirty water, it may cause eye infections, and under the stimulation of inflammatory substances, the patient may suffer from redness and swelling of the eyelids, conjunctival congestion and other discomforts, which may be accompanied by itching and pain in the eyelids and other discomforts.
4. Ocular trauma: If the skin under the eye is hit or struck by an external force during play, causing ocular trauma, the lower eyelid may become red and may be accompanied by localized swelling, bruising and other discomforts.
It is recommended that children with significant redness and swelling of the eyelids seek prompt medical attention to evaluate their condition and follow medical advice.
