How not to snore

Snoring, or snoring, can be a prominent symptom of obstructive sleep apnea hypoventilation syndrome. Depending on the specific cause, treatment can be categorized into non-surgical and surgical treatments. Snoring with a loudness of less than 60dB is often a normal phenomenon; if the loudness of snoring is more than 60dB, which prevents the passage of respiratory airflow in the upper airway, affects the rest of the people in the same room, or leads to the annoyance of others, then it is called snoring. If the snoring is light, it does not cause obvious hypoxia symptoms; if it is heavy, the snoring can be more than 80dB, and may be accompanied by different degrees of hypoxia symptoms. 1. Non-surgical treatment: (1) Adjust the sleeping position, try to take the side position or prone position. If necessary, a small elastic ball-shaped object can be sewn on the top of the back side of the patient’s pajamas, which is helpful for controlling the sleep position and reducing the chance of supine lying. (2) Weight-loss therapy: restrict the amount of food and increase exercise to reduce weight. (3) Airway maintenance therapy: tongue retention device, nasal catheterization method, nasal valve dilator. (4) Nasal continuous positive pressure ventilation therapy: i.e. treatment with continuous positive pressure ventilator. 2. Surgery: Surgery can be considered when non-surgical treatment is ineffective. According to the different parts of the upper airway obstruction and the degree of obstruction, we can choose to perform nasal surgery, pharyngeal surgery, tongue surgery, mandibular surgery and so on. It is recommended that the patient should seek medical treatment to develop an appropriate treatment plan, do not blindly judge and delay the treatment time.
