ROV stands for right ovary in the ultrasound report. The letter “R” is the first letter of the word right, which means right side. “OV” is the first two letters of ovary, which means ovary. On the gynecological ultrasound report, the letter ROV is followed by a number, which indicates the size of the ovary and other relevant data. The normal size of the ovary is about 4cm x 3cm x 1cm, and both ovaries are not exactly the same size, with the ovary on the ovulating side being relatively larger. The size of the ovaries also varies from woman to woman, so the measurements of the ovaries in the ultrasound report are also different. If there are cysts or other pathologic changes on the ovaries, the doctor will also describe the echogenicity of the lesions, etc. If everything is normal, the ultrasound report will describe that there are no obvious abnormalities in the adnexal area.
