Facial paralysis injection treatment usually takes 7 to 14 days.
Facial paralysis needs to improve the CT or MRI of the head to clarify what kind of etiology is caused, and further determine the treatment course.
1. For peripheral facial paralysis caused by facial neuritis, treatment with corticosteroids can reduce nerve inflammation, including prednisone tablets, dexamethasone, etc., which are usually used for 5 consecutive days, followed by gradual tapering to discontinuation within 7 days; acyclovir is used for antiviral treatment, with a cycle of 7~10 days in general. Acupuncture and rehabilitation physiotherapy in the later stage.
2. For central facial paralysis caused by cerebrovascular accident, anti-platelet aggregation, plaque stabilization, activating blood circulation and promoting the establishment of collateral circulation should be given in the acute stage (within 14 days), supplemented by rehabilitation and acupuncture.
3. Facial paralysis caused by other etiologies requires complete examination to determine the treatment plan and course of treatment. For example, peripheral facial paralysis caused by tumor in the posterior cranial fossa or meningitis, or facial paralysis caused by Lyme disease.
