The difference between frozen shoulder and cervical spondylosis

The difference between frozen shoulder and cervical spondylosis is mainly manifested in the pathogenesis, clinical manifestations, imaging and so on.
1. Pathogenesis: cervical spondylosis is due to poor posture, chronic strain and other reasons, leading to degenerative changes in the cervical spine, causing disc herniation, spinal stenosis, bone spur formation, compression of nerve roots, vertebral artery, spinal cord and other causes of a series of clinical symptoms. Frozen shoulder, on the other hand, is caused by long-term physical labor, trauma and chronic strain injury, resulting in aseptic inflammatory reaction in the shoulder joint and surrounding tissues.
2. Clinical manifestations: the pain of cervical spondylosis is mainly neck pain, upper extremity radiating pain can be accompanied by numbness of the upper extremity, and shoulder joint activities are basically normal, while the pain of frozen shoulder is more obvious when moving the shoulder joint and at night, and due to the adhesion of the tissues around the shoulder joint, the uplift and external rotation of the shoulder joint are mostly affected.
3. Imaging: X-ray of cervical spondylosis can show changes in the physiological curvature of cervical vertebrae, formation of bone spurs at the edge of the joints and calcification of ligaments, etc., whereas X-ray of frozen shoulder generally has no obvious abnormality.
When symptoms such as neck and shoulder pain and difficulty in movement occur, it is recommended to consult a doctor in time and follow the doctor’s instructions.
