What is HIFU? HIFU is the Chinese translation of the abbreviation of High Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU), also known as High Intensity Focused Ultrasound Tumor Treatment System. HIFU is a large medical device for non-invasive solid tumor treatment, which was successfully developed by researchers of National Ultrasound Medical Engineering Research Center, Chongqing Medical University and Chongqing HIFU Technology Co. It is unanimously hailed by domestic and foreign experts as the best extracorporeal non-invasive local physiotherapy technology in the world at present. This technology has been promoted and used in many large hospitals in China, and tens of thousands of patients have been treated with remarkable efficacy. The treatment principle of Helioplasty: Helioplasty uses the physical characteristics of ultrasound such as tissue penetration and aggregation to focus low-energy ultrasound in vitro on the lesion in vivo, and through the effect of high temperature generated by high-intensity ultrasound at the focal point, the tissues in the target area are completely destroyed without damaging the tissues outside the target area to achieve non-invasive removal of solid tumors. The mechanism of tumor destruction by HEFL knife: 1.High temperature effect: the temperature of the tissues in the target area suddenly rises to 65℃-100℃ in a short period of time, resulting in coagulative necrosis. 2.Cavitation effect: the membrane structure (including plasma membrane and nuclear membrane) in the target area produces transient compression and expansion until collapse, resulting in irreversible cell damage such as loss of continuity of plasma membrane and nuclear membrane and rupture of cell organelles. 3.Mechanical effect: The mechanical vibration of ultrasonic waves destroys cell membrane, intracellular structure and cytoskeleton, causing tumor cells to lose vitality. 4.Acoustic chemical effect: The chemical components in the cell membrane structure produce chemical reaction under the action of high energy ultrasonic waves (such as H2O can be split into H+ and OH-, etc.), causing damage to tumor cells. 5.Destruction of tumor blood vessels: High-energy ultrasonic waves can destroy small tumor trophoblastic blood vessels and capillaries below 2mm, and tumor tissues appear secondary ischemic necrosis. Indications of Hepatome: primary or metastatic liver cancer, pancreatic cancer, soft tissue tumor, retroperitoneal tumor, pelvic tumor, breast cancer, malignant bone tumor, kidney cancer and other malignant tumors and benign tumors of liver, uterine fibroids, breast fibroids and other solid tumors that can be shown by B ultrasound. What is the clinical efficacy of Hepatome for tumor treatment? To date, nearly 10,000 patients with benign and malignant tumors have been treated with the knife in various centers around the world, and the clinical efficacy is satisfactory, with good feedback from patients. Some of the first patients with liver cancer and solid abdominal tumors treated with the Heliport knife have survived for 5 years and are now doing well, with some patients getting married and having children. Generally speaking, the effectiveness of a new treatment modality is judged by surviving for 5 years. After a cancer patient has survived 5 years of treatment, it is medically understood to mean that the disease has reached clinical cure. What are the unique advantages of Hepatome? 1.Operation outside the body, which can completely destroy the cancer mass in the body; 2.Non-invasive (no incision), no radioactive damage (ultrasound is a kind of mechanical wave, no radioactive contamination); 3.No need for surgical exposure or puncture guidance, no damage to normal tissues outside the target area, avoiding tumor spread due to surgery or puncture; 4.No toxic effects on patients’ liver, kidney, heart, brain, lung and other important organs; 5.No blood transfusion during treatment. It completely avoids the occurrence of blood-borne infectious diseases; 6. It obviously reduces the complications of tumor patients in surgery and post-surgery, etc., with less pain and light reaction. How to ensure the safety of the treatment? It is equipped with ultrasound imaging and positioning device (B-ultrasound) and computerized automatic control system, which can ensure that the ultrasound focusing and positioning are determined during the treatment, without hurting the normal tissues around the tumor.
