A 5 cm lump in the epididymis may be related to epididymal cysts and tumors.
1. Epididymal cyst: due to the obstruction of the vas deferens in the epididymal sac and the resultant stagnation of semen, which leads to swelling and the formation of a structure similar to a bag filled with water. The epididymis can be palpated as a round or ovoid swelling with smooth surface and no pressure pain. In such patients, if the cyst is large, it can be up to 5cm, and then the tension is large, and it may be hard to touch.
2. Epididymal tumor: it may be due to injury, infection, radiation, heredity and other reasons, causing painless lumps in the scrotum. It may appear that the testicle is replaced by a tumor, and if the tumor is large, it can be up to 5 cm. epididymal tumors are relatively rare, but most of them are malignant.
A 5cm lump in the epididymis may also be caused by other reasons. It is recommended to consult a doctor in time, follow the doctor’s instructions for relevant examinations, clarify the cause with the help of the doctor, and carry out targeted treatment or therapy.
