Blood tests for HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) are usually available the same day at larger hospitals, tertiary hospitals. In some hospitals, the results may be available on the 2nd day, i.e. 24 hours later. Blood tests for HIV are mainly used to detect AIDS and are performed in many large hospitals for more patients. In this case, as long as the specimen can be put into the assembly line for testing on the same day, the results can basically be available on the same day. There are also rapid HIV tests that can be performed clinically, and the results may be available in about 2 hours. However, if there is a problem with this rapid result, retesting is required.
