How is heterozygous leukodystrophy (MLD) treated?

Gene therapy requires rigorous science, efficacy, safety, and practicality. However, the current gene therapy for MLD does not meet this requirement. I do not agree with the current treatments. Of course, in the absence of an effective treatment, some pioneering experimental research, including clinical research, is necessary. The prerequisite is that the lives of patients are safeguarded. Patients receive benefits from experimental treatments. We strongly resist experimental treatments in which the patient is the subject of the experiment and the implementer gets the benefit for the purpose of earning money. The patient’s health and the patient’s dignity are safeguarded, and the patient should not bear the cost of treatment, but should be compensated morally and financially.
