Swelling in the leg that has not gone down for 1 month after the fall may be related to soft tissue contusion, fracture etc. It can be treated by general treatment, medication and surgery.
1. Soft tissue contusion: If there is no timely treatment after the fall, coupled with skin and subcutaneous tissue injury, repeated inflammatory reaction and local bleeding may lead to swelling in January. You should pay attention to rest, do not overdo activities to avoid aggravating the condition; elevate the affected limb to promote blood return; clean and disinfect the wound, put pressure on the bandage; use anti-inflammatory and pain relieving drugs as prescribed by the doctor, such as diclofenac sodium and so on.
2. Fracture: If there is a fracture, such as patella fracture, it will also cause swelling all the time, and the swelling will not go away for a month. It is necessary to go to the hospital in time, take pictures to check the severity of the fracture. If the fracture is not displaced, it can be fixed with plaster or support; if the displacement is serious, it can be treated with surgical incision and reduction and fixation.
After the fall, we should deal with it immediately, apply cold compresses within 72 hours, and change to hot compresses after 72 hours, clean and sterilize the wound, elevate the affected limb to promote local blood circulation and reduce the swelling. If the swelling persists, accompanied by pain or activity limitation, you should consult a doctor in time, improve the examination and standardize the treatment.
