Is the lack of bleeding after taking the pill a contraceptive failure?

It is normal to have no bleeding after taking the pill, but whether or not you are pregnant and whether or not the pill is successful will depend on later testing. At present, the emergency contraceptive pills available in the market are mainly levonorgestrel or mifepristone. Mifepristone is a progestin antagonist, and most of them do not cause vaginal bleeding after taking them orally. If you buy levonorgestrel, which is itself a highly effective progestin, you may experience withdrawal bleeding after using the pill, but not all patients will experience it, especially if you take the oral emergency contraceptive pill just after your period, there may be less withdrawal bleeding. If a highly effective progestin is used after ovulation, it acts as a progestin withdrawal, which often causes vaginal bleeding. Irrespective of which emergency oral contraceptive pill is used, menstrual irregularities may occur, and if they do occur, it is recommended that the process of menstrual irregularities afterwards be combined with oral short-acting contraceptives to regulate the menstrual cycle.
