Treatment of renal cysts in the elderly

The treatment of renal cysts in the elderly includes observation and follow-up, interventional therapy and surgical treatment.
1. Observation and follow-up: Elderly people have relatively poor physical conditions, often combined with hypertension, diabetes and other diseases, and the risk of surgery is higher. Asymptomatic renal cysts in the elderly generally do not need special treatment, regular follow-up.
2. Interventional therapy: under the guidance of ultrasound, anhydrous ethanol is injected into the cystic cavity of the lesion and sucked out, which stimulates the renal cyst wall to produce aseptic inflammation, causes the cyst wall to crumple up and adhere to each other, and eliminates the cystic cavity, so as to achieve the purpose of treating renal cysts. Generally, it is suitable for patients with small size of cysts.
3. Surgical treatment: the renal cysts will be removed directly through laparoscopic or open abdominal way, which is suitable for patients with large cysts and obvious clinical symptoms.
Elderly people with renal cysts should go to the hospital in time and choose the appropriate treatment method under the guidance of professional doctors to avoid delaying the condition.
