Needle-stick injuries are first treated with a sterile cotton ball dipped in povidone-iodine for local disinfection, and if there is any foreign body residue that needs to be removed, then bandage the wound with sterile gauze, and then go to the hospital for a dressing change in about 3~4 days. If the injury site appears red and swollen and oozing, there may be an infection, which needs to be cleaned up, usually using saline river hydrogen peroxide for rinsing, and then use iodine povidone to disinfect, and finally use sterile gauze and bandage to fix it under pressure and with antibiotics, such as cefuroxime, amoxicillin and so on. After being stuck by a needle, you also need to inject tetanus antitoxin to prevent tetanus.
