How many years will the balloon last?

The term “balloon” in medical terms generally refers to a cardiac medication balloon, and there is no indication of how many years it will last, as it will need to be retrieved and removed subsequently. Cardiac medication balloons are generally used when some of the heart’s blood vessels are more than 70-75% narrowed, making it difficult to use a stent directly. The drug balloon is a closed balloon that expands the narrowed blood vessel while dilating it. Since the balloon also prevents blood from passing through it, it needs to be removed after it opens up the blood vessel, so there is no such thing as a few years. After the drug balloon is removed, it is usually replaced by a stent, which is taken out of the operating room at the end of the procedure and does not remain in the patient for a long period of time. Therefore, only the preoperative device nurses are required to pay attention to the shelf-life of the device, and there is no standard for the life span of the device.
