What is labor analgesia all about?

Simply put, labor analgesia means that the mother does not feel the pain caused by contractions during the labor and delivery process. The most commonly used method at home and abroad is called intradural block, which is the epidural analgesia. It is the same as the method of cesarean section anesthesia, in which a puncture is made in the lumbar area, and then a thin tube is placed and connected to an epidural analgesia pump. The local anesthetic used in the epidural analgesic pump is low in concentration, highly controllable and safe, so it can maintain no pain during the whole process and has less impact on the mother and the newborn, which is a safer and more reliable method. Labor analgesia can also make the mother feel more comfortable and happy, reduce anxiety, and make her feel more confident to go into labor.
