Cirrhosis with swollen feet is mainly considered to be due to hypoproteinemia, sodium and water retention, the treatment needs to improve the symptoms through diuresis and protein supplementation. 1.Etiology: (1) hypoproteinemia: patients with liver cirrhosis, the ability of the liver to synthesize proteins will be reduced at this time, which is especially likely to lead to the reduction of plasma albumin, which will lead to a decrease in plasma colloid osmotic pressure, which is prone to the condition of edema. (2) Sodium and water retention: when liver cirrhosis leads to a decrease in the liver’s ability to synthesize proteins, hormonal metabolic disorders will occur, resulting in water and sodium retention, or at the same time combined with ascites and portal hypertension, at this time, edema of the lower extremities will occur. 2.Treatment: (1) Diuretics: use furosemide and spironolactone tablets to give diuresis to reduce swelling. (2) Protein supplementation: if the albumin is lower than 30 g/L, human blood albumin can be supplemented or protein can be added to the diet. Patients with cirrhosis who have swollen feet need to seek timely medical treatment under the guidance of a doctor.
