Cognitive function rating scales include the MMSE, MOCA, DRS, and GPCOG measures.
1. MMSE: MMSE is the abbreviation of Simple Mental State Evaluation Scale, which evaluates the orientation, immediate memory, and attention of subjects according to their level of education. It is the most widely used scale at home and abroad.
2. MOCA: MOCA is the abbreviation of Montreal Cognitive Assessment Scale, which is formulated with reference to the content of MMSE and combined with clinical experience, and the cut-off value is widely disputed at present.
3. DRS: DRS is the abbreviation of Mattis Dementia Rating Scale (MDRS), which is a set of clinical mental status assessment tools, assessing five items: attention, concept formation, initiation and retention, structure and memory.
4. GPCOG: GPCOG is the abbreviation for General Practitioner Cognitive Function Assessment Scale. It is divided into a two-part survey of patients and informants. At present, GPCOG screening for Alzheimer’s disease has higher sensitivity and takes less time, which is suitable for primary screening.
When cognitive impairment occurs, patients are advised to seek medical treatment as early as possible, and under the guidance of doctors for scientific and standardized assessment and treatment.
