Can fractures be seen on a chest x-ray?

If the fracture site is in the clavicle, a chest x-ray is possible to see the fracture. If it is a rib fracture and the displacement is not obvious, it is more difficult to observe the fracture line due to the overlapping of ribs. In addition to X-ray examination, sometimes other examinations, such as CT scan, may be required. The fracture is mainly manifested by local deformation, abnormal limb movement, pain or swelling at the injured area. Treatment of fractures mainly includes repositioning, fixation and rehabilitation. The repositioning without surgery is called closed repositioning, and most children’s fractures can be closed repositioned. Open fractures must first be thoroughly cleaned to avoid infection. The purpose of rehabilitation training for fracture patients is to reduce muscle atrophy, prevent joint stiffness, promote bone healing, and maximize restoration of function to the injured area.
