The causes of high monocyte percentage include physiological and pathological factors. Physiological factors usually do not require special treatment, while the treatment of pathological factors includes medication and surgery.
1. In infancy and childhood, the body’s monocyte percentage will be high. However, this is a physiologic increase and generally does not require special treatment.
2. Pathologic factors causing high monocyte percentage include infective endocarditis and active tuberculosis.
(1) If it is caused by infective endocarditis, anti-microbial drugs are usually given first. For example, penicillin is preferred for those caused by streptococcal infection; penicillin combined with amoxicillin can be chosen for those caused by enterococci. And for patients with heart failure complications or infections that are difficult to control, it is recommended to consider surgical treatment.
(2) If it is caused by active tuberculosis, anti-tuberculosis drugs are usually given, and common anti-tuberculosis drugs include isoniazid, rifampicin, pyrazinamide, ethambutol, and streptomycin.
If the percentage of mononuclear cells is high, you need to actively consult the doctor and follow the doctor’s instructions for reasonable treatment, and the drugs need to follow the doctor’s instructions for reasonable application.
