How long does induced abortion take?

Induction of labor usually takes about 24-48 hours. It is a process in which the fetus is delivered due to a pregnant woman’s personal wishes, physical reasons, or abnormal development of the fetus, and the uterine contractions are induced artificially by medication to dilate the opening of the uterine cervix, resulting in the delivery of the fetus. The process is very similar to vaginal delivery except that the uterine contractions are artificially induced by the use of drugs, and the dilation of the uterus and contractions that force the fetus out of the body are also very painful. Due to the different drugs used to induce labor, the onset of contractions and the time it takes for the cervix to ripen varies. After the opening of the uterus is complete, labor can be completed in about half an hour if it goes well, but if there are complications during labor, such as a retained placenta, hemorrhage, or damage to the cervix, the duration of the induction of labor procedure will be relatively longer.
