Diabetes mellitus (DM), an endocrine metabolic disease of unknown etiology, is a global public health problem that seriously endangers human health. It is expected that by 2025, the number of people with diabetes will be about 370 million worldwide, and the number of patients in developing countries will be even larger, according to relevant statistics, the annual increase of people with diabetes in China is 0.1%. Diabetes itself can lead to a variety of systemic complications, among which diabetic nephropathy (DN) is one of the most common microvascular complications and one of the most difficult microvascular complications to treat. In a retrospective analysis of Chinese inpatients, the prevalence of type 2 diabetes with nephropathy was 34.7%, and DN is characterized by persistent proteinuria, progressive decompensation of renal function, and high cardiovascular morbidity and mortality. Studies have shown that DN is the leading cause of death in type 1 diabetic patients; it is second only to cardiovascular disease in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM).DN has an insidious onset and progresses slowly through the early DN stage, clinical DN stage, and eventually to end.stage renal disease (ESRD). It is well known that when patients with diabetic nephropathy develop clinical symptoms, they often enter the middle or late stage of diabetic nephropathy and lose the possibility of reversal. Studies have shown that the occurrence of DN is a chronic process, and studies have confirmed that early kidney damage is reversible, therefore, early detection, early prevention and treatment of DN are particularly important. In modern medicine, the treatment of early DN is mostly combined with ACEI/ARB agents on the basis of hypoglycemia to reduce or delay the development of DN proteinuria to varying degrees, but it is far from meeting the actual clinical needs. In Chinese medicine, it belongs to the categories of “thirst”, “edema”, “deficiency labor” and “guangs”, etc., always because of thirst It is caused by the deficiency of kidney qi, loss of seal, and lack of power to fix the essence, resulting in unfavorable opening and closing of the bladder and abnormal qi-transformation, which leads to cloudy urine. When the kidney is injured, the qi does not work, and dampness and heat are generated inside, dampness and heat can further injure the kidney, the kidney loses solidity and astringency, and the water and grain essence is drained down and proteinuria is seen. Therefore, Chinese medicine treatment has good efficacy, we control blood glucose, blood pressure on the basis of Chinese medicine treatment with better results.
