The primordial uterus, also known as the trace uterus, is caused by congenital dysplasia of the female reproductive system, most often due to abnormal development of the paramedian duct, which is a malformation of uterine development. This type of uterus is extremely small, 1-3 cm, mostly without a cavity, combined with no vagina and no menstruation. Most of them are associated with urinary and cardiovascular anomalies. The diagnosis of primordial uterus is based on history and clinical presentation, as well as gynecologic ultrasound, color ultrasound, chromosomal analysis and endocrine examination. Solid primordial uterus is usually left untreated; if there is periodic abdominal pain or blood accumulation in the uterine cavity, surgical removal is required.
