What does flora suppression mean?

Flora inhibition, is the phenomenon of inhibition or killing of sensitive and normal flora caused by flora dysbiosis. Normal flora refers to microorganisms that live in various parts of human or animals, have large numbers, more stable species, and can generally play a beneficial role, such as staphylococci, Corynebacterium diphtheriae-like bacilli, and Propionibacterium propionibacterium on the surface of the skin, which are involved in the metabolism of the skin cells, and play a role in immunity and self-purification; bifidobacteria and fecal coccobacilli in the intestine; and Lactobacillus, Staphylococcus epidermidis, and Escherichia coli in the vagina. If the balance between the normal flora and the host or between the various strains of the normal flora is disrupted, the phenomenon of inhibition of sensitive and normal flora will occur, and there will be a dual infection, overlapping infections and so on. Common etiologic factors include long-term heavy use of antibiotics such as tetracycline and immunosuppressants such as cyclophosphamide. Clinical long-term large-scale application of tetracycline and other broad-spectrum antibiotics, most of the sensitive bacteria and normal flora are inhibited or killed, but drug-resistant bacteria get survival advantage and reproduce in large quantities to cause disease, such as drug-resistant Staphylococcus aureus caused diarrhea, sepsis, and antibiotic insensitive Pseudomona albicans caused thrush, vaginitis, intestinal and anal infections, and so on. Once there is inhibition of flora, it is recommended to consult a doctor in order to clarify the diagnosis and carry out targeted treatment.
