Caudal pain during pregnancy is common for the following reasons: First, as the number of months of pregnancy increases, the uterus is severely congested, which will increase the pelvic pressure and also relax the ligaments in the area where the tailbone and sacrum are connected, and the patient may have clinical symptoms of caudal pain, which will gradually decrease or even disappear completely after the end of delivery. Second, the patient has a history of severe lumbar disc herniation, and pregnancy will aggravate the herniation, and the nucleus pulposus tissue will compress the nerve, which can cause tailbone pain symptoms. Usually the pain is so severe that the patient will not be able to tolerate it, and bed rest will not make the clinical symptoms, get obvious relief. Local heat, massage and acupressure are usually needed to relieve the clinical symptoms. Patients with recurrent symptoms should be treated surgically as soon as possible after delivery to relieve nerve compression.
