Tailbone pain arises mainly due to acute injury or chronic strain injury to the lower sacrum, caudal vertebrae, and its surrounding soft tissues caused by various factors, such as contusions and infections of the soft tissues around the sacral tail, or an acute or chronic persistent pain caused by unconscious and continuous strain injury to the soft tissues around the sacral tailbone due to long-term incorrect sitting posture, inappropriate labour and exercise patterns, and the formation of chronic strain injury.
