Minimally invasive esophageal cancer resection without opening the chest

Based on the mature minimally invasive radical esophageal cancer surgery, we further minimized the surgery for early-stage esophageal cancer and successfully used laparoscopy to remove esophageal cancer through the esophageal fissure and reconstruct the digestive tract by performing gastroesophageal anastomosis through a small incision in the neck. Because of avoiding opening the chest, the surgical trauma is greatly reduced, the postoperative pain is significantly reduced, and the operation time is shortened to less than 2 hours, the patient recovers quickly after the operation, the hospital stay is shortened, and the treatment cost is saved. This method is suitable for minimally invasive surgical treatment of early esophageal cancer. Since 2011, our treatment team has been routinely adopting minimally invasive surgery for all esophageal cancers. Currently, we have successfully performed over 600 minimally invasive esophageal cancer surgeries.
