Febrile convulsions additive is not a type of epilepsy. Febrile convulsions additive is a condition in which febrile convulsions continue after the age of 6 years, with or without symptoms of febrile generalized tonic clonic seizures. It is not one of the other epilepsy syndromes that have been defined so far, and often has a genetic predisposition. Epilepsy, commonly known as “crohns” or “epilepsy”, is a chronic disease in which sudden abnormal discharges of neurons in the brain lead to brain dysfunction. Depending on the cause of the epilepsy, it can be categorized as idiopathic epilepsy syndrome, symptomatic epilepsy syndrome, and possible symptomatic epilepsy syndrome. The new scheme proposed by the International League Against Epilepsy in 2001 defines and standardizes a number of key terms, including reflex epilepsy syndrome, benign epilepsy syndrome, and epileptic encephalopathy. Patients with febrile convulsive add-on syndrome should consult with their physician to improve their examination.
