The presence of burrs around a mass shadow lesion in the upper lobe of the right lung should be considered a malignant tumor of the lung.
Right upper lobe mass shadow foci can be seen in the description of lung X-ray, CT and other examination results, “mass shadow” can be a lung mass, nodule or inflammation, such as benign lesions, the edge of the lesion is often smooth and sharp edges, the border is clear, and malignant tumors often have the lesion edge of the formation of fine short burrs.
The burrs around the lesion are called burr sign or spiny protrusion, which is often shown as different degrees of spiny or burr-like protrusions at the edge of the lesion on the image. Lung nodules or masses with this sign are commonly seen in peripheral lung cancer, and sometimes, lobar sign or pleural depression sign can also be seen on the image. The above signs are often difficult to be shown on X-ray, but can be easily found on CT examination.
Patients with right upper lobe mass shadow lesion with burr sign should be diagnosed and treated under the guidance of specialized physicians.
