Do bats fly into bedrooms and spread viruses?

Bats flying into bedrooms have the potential to distribute viruses. Bats generally need to transmit viruses to humans through an intermediate host, but may also transmit viruses through the air or by direct contact.
There are a number of viruses that can be airborne to humans in the form of aerosols from bat glandular secretions or feces, such as rabies virus and coronaviruses that are transmitted in this way.
In particular, relatively enclosed environments such as bedrooms are more likely to transmit viruses in the form of aerosols. However, the new coronavirus is sensitive to both ultraviolet light and heat. Chlorine disinfectants, 75% ethanol and other fat-soluble disinfectants can destroy the new coronavirus.
If a bat flies into your bedroom, take precautions for yourself. Don’t scratch bats indiscriminately. If bitten or scratched by bats, go to the hospital for examination and receive rabies vaccine. In addition, you can disinfect your bedroom with some disinfectant after the bat has flown away.
