Patients who have irregular thyroid nodules after ultrasound examination and are unable to clarify the nature of the nodules can have a pathologic tissue biopsy. If the pathological tissue biopsy reveals that the thyroid tissue is malignant, it may be thyroid cancer, and surgical treatment and medication will be considered. If patients are treated with total thyroidectomy, they need to supplement thyroid hormone with medications such as levothyroxine sodium tablets and thyroxine tablets as prescribed by the doctor. Alternatively, patients may be treated with iodine 131 after surgery. It is recommended that patients undergo imaging tests to detect irregularities in the thyroid nodules and seek prompt medical attention, and the doctor will choose the appropriate measures for treatment according to the cause of the disease.
