What’s wrong with the leukorrhea?

Leucorrhoea may be caused by physiological leucorrhoea (during pregnancy, ovulation, before and after menstruation), pathologic leucorrhoea (infectious factors, non-infectious factors) and so on.
1. Physiological leukorrhea: when in pregnancy or ovulation, the increase of estrogen level will lead to the increase of cervical gland secretion, or before and after menstruation due to pelvic congestion, so that the vaginal and uterine secretion increases.
2. Pathological leukorrhea:
(1) Infectious factors: when infected by bacteria, fungi, pathogenic worms, spirochetes and other infections, excessive leukorrhea may occur, common diseases include bacterial vaginosis, cervicitis, cervical polyps, gonorrhea and so on.
(2) Non-infectious factors: when the patient has epithelial cancer of the vagina, cervix, endometrium, and fallopian tubes, it may lead to an increase in leukorrhea.
There may be other reasons for leukorrhea, so it is recommended to go to the hospital in time to find out the cause of the disease under the doctor’s guidance, and take targeted treatment according to the specific examination results.
