Frosted glass 6mm in the right apical segment of the lung is generally not serious, but we should be alert to the malignant transformation of the frosted glass nodule, and need to follow up and observe it according to the doctor’s instructions.
If there are no respiratory symptoms such as cough and sputum, no special treatment is needed for 6mm ground-glass nodule, but it should be rechecked after 3-6 months as prescribed by the doctor to observe the morphology, edges, density and growth rate of the nodule.
If, during the follow-up, the nodule is found to be growing faster, with irregular morphology, lobulated margins, burrs, signs such as vascular signs and pleural pulling, or the solid component of the nodule is increasing, there is a higher possibility of malignant nodules, which should be puncture biopsy or direct surgical excision of the nodule as prescribed by the doctor.
It is recommended that the patient should consult a doctor for further examination or regular follow-up to clarify the nature of the nodule and take appropriate treatment measures under the doctor’s guidance.
