Usually the raw He Shou Wu has detoxification, elimination of carbuncle, cut off malaria (malaria), laxative effect, the role of carbuncle, scrofula (mainly refers to the cervical lymph nodes tuberculosis), rubella itching, malaria deficiency, intestinal dryness and constipation and other diseases, and does not have the role of black hair.
The preparation of He Shou Wu is a kind of concoction method of He Shou Wu, which adopts the method of stewing or steaming in the General Principles of Chinese Medicine Concoctions, and combines with the juice of black beans to make it. It has the effect of tonifying the liver and kidney, benefiting the essence and blood, making the hair and beard black, strengthening the muscles and bones, resolving turbidity and lowering the fat, and is used for the treatment of blood deficiency and atrophy, dizziness and tinnitus, premature whitening of the hair and leakage and leucorrhoea (abnormal appearance of the menstrual period and leucorrhoea abnormalities in females), etc. It is also used to treat the symptoms of blood deficiency and atrophy.
The preparation of He Shou Wu requires other medicines to be used together to treat the above diseases, for example, it is often used together with Radix Rehmanniae Praeparata, Radix Angelicae Sinensis, and Rhizoma Mulberry for the treatment of premature whitening of hair due to deficiency of the liver and kidneys (weakness of the liver and kidneys), and qi and blood deficiencies.
It is also contraindicated for those with loose stools (unformed stools) and those with excessive dampness and phlegm (weak spleen qi and dampness that accumulates to form phlegm).
