Wound dressing change a day a good or every other day change

The timing of wound dressing changes depends on the specific circumstances of the wound and cannot be generalized. The purpose of wound dressing changes is to promote wound healing. For sterile surgical incisions or common wounds, if there is no obvious exudate, a change of medication is usually sufficient once in 3-4 days. If it is an infected wound, especially if there is an obvious pus cavity in the affected area and the local inflammatory reaction around the wound is obvious, the dressing should be changed daily, and the daily dressing change should remove the exudate and pus moss and other substances, actively drain the wound to prevent further aggravation of the infection; at the same time, sterile dressing should be applied for dressing, together with anti-infection treatment. If the infection is well controlled, with little exudate and fresh granulation tissue, a dressing change every other day is recommended. In addition, during the wound recovery period, patients are advised to pay attention to the dryness and air permeability of the wound, avoid getting wet, establish a good daily routine, do not stay up late, and avoid eating spicy and stimulating food to promote wound recovery.
