How to nourish the frail elderly

Weakness in the elderly is mostly seen in the category of “deficiency labor” in Chinese medicine, mostly caused by deficiency of qi, blood, yin and yang. For heart yang deficiency, Baoyuan Tang is used to benefit qi and nourish the heart; for spleen yang deficiency, Lizhong Tang is used to benefit qi and strengthen the spleen; and for kidney yang deficiency, Right Returning Drink is used to nourish the kidneys and support yang.
