Is sodium chloride solution an electrolyte?

Sodium chloride solution is not an electrolyte. By electrolytes are meant compounds, which, when dissolved in water, or in the molten state, have the property of being capable of conducting electricity, and are therefore called electrolytes. Electrolytes are pure substances, not mixtures; acetic acid, copper sulfate, calcium carbonate, and pure sodium chloride, are all electrolytes. Sodium chloride solution, on the other hand, is an aqueous solution of sodium chloride, and solutions are not pure substances, they are mixtures. Therefore, conceptually, sodium chloride solution is not an electrolyte. And sodium chloride itself is a strong electrolyte. Therefore, conceptually, sodium chloride solution is not an electrolyte.
