What does poorer prognosis mean?

Prognosis refers to the likely outcome of recovery as judged empirically for the disease. A poor prognosis may refer to a poorer outcome of recovery, for example, if a malignant tumor is found in the middle or late stage, this is generally a poor prognosis, which means that extensive metastasis may occur and survival time is not long. For example, if the prognosis of malignant tumor is judged to be poor at the beginning, but the primary tumor shrinks and does not metastasize to other sites after chemotherapy and targeted therapy, the prognosis will also improve. The poor prognosis alone cannot determine the survival of the patient, but should be seen while treatment.
