Urate crystals are mainly caused by high uric acid, and uric acid-lowering therapy is needed to remove urate crystals. For long-term treatment of gout, uric acid-lowering drugs can be given to dissolve the urate crystals formed in the joints. Common drugs that promote uric acid discharge include benzbromarone, which can accelerate the discharge of uric acid from the body, thus preventing the formation of urate crystals. In addition, drugs that reduce the production of uric acid, such as allopurinol and febuxostat, can reduce the production of urate in the body. Gout patients should usually drink more water, eat more fresh fruits and vegetables, and minimize the intake of foods that are too high in purines. Patients with urate crystals are advised to go to the rheumatology and immunology departments of regular hospitals for detailed consultation, follow the doctor’s instructions for standardized diagnosis and treatment, and do not use medication on their own.
