It is generally not necessary to monitor one hour postprandial blood glucose, but it is necessary to measure blood glucose in critical situations such as diabetic ketoacidosis, where close monitoring of blood glucose is required.
One hour after a meal, blood glucose is in a state of significant elevation, for the diagnosis of diabetes, monitoring one hour postprandial blood glucose, equivalent to random blood glucose; for daily monitoring of blood glucose, it is recommended that diabetic patients measure fasting blood glucose and two hours postprandial blood glucose.
If diabetes is not diagnosed, one hour postprandial blood glucose ≥11.1 mmol/L, consider the possibility of diabetes; if diabetes has been diagnosed, for general diabetic patients, fasting blood glucose is recommended to be controlled at 4.4-7.0 mmol/L, and non-fasting blood glucose is less than 10 mmol/L.
Diabetic patients should scientifically monitor their blood glucose under the guidance of a doctor.
